On the hour, the man moves his saw across the log as the cuckoo bird cuckoos the time, with a single cuckoo call at the half hour. The 30-hour all-brass mechanical Regula movement is wound daily with two pine cone weights, one powering the time and the other powering the cuckoo and the moving figure. A hand-made pendulum ensures accurate timing, and a manual night shut-off allows you to silence the cuckoo and stop the man sawing. Each clock is unique, with slight variations in color and carving.
